current repo health?

this package is awesome, but it seems un-maintained currently.. there's some stuff that hasn't been vended to npm yet (like the strict mode fix), as well as the "v1" PR that looks like it was going to get it up to date with react v19 and the other dependencies that now support the latest react version.

can a maintainer comment on the state of this package? there's so much promise in this package, but it's hard to use straight from NPM right now, when there's fixes that have to be locally applied.
