Plugdata window not opening in Bitwig on OSX

Symptom After working fine for weeks, the plugin UI no longer opens in Bitwig.

Tests

  • CLAP and VST3 versions - same result in both.
  • VST3 version opens fine in Ableton Live on the same computer.
  • Tested on 2 separate computers (Sequoia and Ventura), the latter being a completely clean install of Bitwig and PlugData.
  • Stand-alone version: opens ok on Ventura, no window or menus on Sequoia

I was on 0.9.1 and have also tried downgrading to 0.9.0 with no difference (on Sequoia).

Downloading it now (extremely low bit rate and it keeps dropping the connection...). I'll report back once it's installed.

Ok, 0.9.2 now installed. I opened in stand-alone first and it told me about a corrupt settings file, so I accepted the change, then it opened ok.

In Bitwig, the UI now opens but with 2 problems:

  1. The instance is plugin mode, and it is a small UI, so the "Corrupt settings" message is cut off above the buttons. I had to experiment with Tab and Enter to clear the message.

  2. The automation parameter boxes of this patch in design mode are showing in red and don't work, even though the correctly-named parameters are showing in the Parameters sidebar. The error sidebar shows, for example, "param Glory... couldn't create". Is this a separate problem?
