[logicpro] AU settings may not be persisted in a logic session

Are there known conditions where a Logic Pro session might fail to persist plugdata's state?

A student reported that they created a plugdata instance in Logic, created a patch with parameters, saved the Logic project, and later, reopening the project, the plugdata instance was empty (no patch, no parameters).

I think they are using one or another nightly build, because of other issues that have been patched in nightly.

Probably MacOS 10.12.x, Logic 10.4, but I might be getting two students confused there.

(Logic has been quite troublesome for students in this course... not sure if it's a Logic problem or a PlugData problem, just reporting that I've seen 4, 5, 6 weird things only in Logic.)
