MacOS 10.12.6 Intel, AU plugin not appearing in Logic, (only LV2 is usable in Reaper)

Let's see if I covered everything...

  • MacOS 10.12.6
  • Intel Core i5
  • Plugdata 0.9.1 Legacy installer
  • Logic version 10.4.4

The student (a different student from the other issue) opens Logic and tries to put Plugdata into a track insert. Plugdata doesn't appear in the list.

I had her confirm that the plug-in files are installed in the Components folder -- this much is OK.

Seems to be some sort of incompatibility -- I also asked her to try in Reaper (differential testing: if it works in Reaper but not in Logic, then it would be a Logic problem). It appears in the Reaper plug-in list, but "could not open."

EDIT: The plugdata AU "could not open" in Reaper. The plugdata LV2 does (seemingly) open in Reaper, on Mac.

What to try next? Upgrade Logic? Different Plugdata build?

Have you tried the universal binary?

Have you tried the universal binary?

Several students did try the Universal installer, but had problems due to OS version.

https://plugdata.org/download.html says "Choose macOS Universal for macOS 10.15 or later. Choose macOS Legacy for macOS 10.11 or later." This particular student is running macOS 10.12, so she is following documented instructions by installing Legacy.
