Status of the project?
Hey! (@AaronErhardt / rest of plotters-rs maintainers)
I am the maintainer of Freya, today I made a plotters backend using Skia, and I was about to open an issue/discussion here to see if maybe you would like to have it in this repo, but...
I have only now realized that the project is basically abandoned? I went to see issues and discussions, ranging from features, bugs, release requests, and so on, from many months ago, some even up to 1 year... with no response whatsoever? (I don't want to sound rude, it's just that it kinda hurts to see this beautiful project like this 🙁)
So... is this project abandoned?
If you folk/s are busy with other things/lack motivation/whatever (it's alright, open source doesn't usually pay the bills), would you consider selecting some contributors to handle PR reviewing/merging & releases? (I don't speak for me, but I am sure some people might want to, hopefully)
What do you think?
bro someone wake him up 😆
Aside from the joke, can we donate this project to polars since it is abandoned? @AaronErhardt
Sorry for the late reply. Yes, this project has been more or less abandoned. I took over for a while but I don't do plotting myself meanwhile and also don't have much time to spend on plotters unfortunately. So far, the biggest problem has been finding someone willing to take over a maintenance role long-term. If we can find a small team of maintainers, I'd be more than happy to hand over my role as a maintainer.
@AaronErhardt how much effort is needed from a maintainer?
I am not a maintainer, but here is a thought. If we try out a few open pull requests and add code review (or a "works for me"), then this will be helpful for the maintainers, when they return.

Do reviews mostly and maybe do a ralease from time to time. Ideally, someone could also deal with the technical debt in this project, but that's not necessary to keep it alive for the moment
