Player won't browse libraries with multiple network interfaces

Open Sebanisu opened this issue 5 years ago • 6 comments

Test environment

PMS Version: 1.14.1.5488 PMP Version: 3.83.1 Platform (Windows/macOS/Embedded RPi/Embedded Intel): Windows 10 64 bit

Steps to reproduce

I opened PMP and logged in. I clicked on any library. It would just like blink/flash

I looked in the pulldown and saw my server in the list twice

So I looked in server options to set my preferred interface. And restarted my server and player.

Problem went away.

Current behavior

Libraries won't open if player detects the server twice.

Expected behavior

It should just choose an ip and use it. Assuming that was my problem.

Are you running a software VPN on the same computer running Plex Media Server? Likewise, are you running a VPN on the same machine running PMP?

Thanks :)

I am not using a VPN. I am using 2 NICs to have faster transfers to my NAS. The player and server are on the same machine. Sadly my NAS is too slow to transcode. So it just hosts the files.

My little workaround seems to have stopped working. Seems to effect the webclient 127.0.0.1 as well I can only use the app.plex.tv/ I don't want to disable my ethernet port having two lets me use smb multichannel. Maybe I should download the source and see if i can debug the problem. though maybe it's server side since the issue is affecting local access on the webclient. It doesn't always happen but just when it detects my server twice.

Having exact same issue - PMP detecting server twice, same blinking and inability to navigate libraries. Had any luck finding the cause of the double server?

I forked the code but had put off trying to figure out the problem. Been busy with my own project.
