  1. Wipe all vscode/code-oss settings.
  2. Run Code - OSS.
  3. Install PlatformIO

The Release Notes tab opens with this error:

Error: ENOENT: no such file or directory, open '/home/user/.vscode-oss/extensions/platformio.platformio-ide-3.3.4-linux-x64/CHANGELOG.md'

Not only is there this error, but the error message itself is a word salad.

I faced with the same issue. There is ~/.vscode-oss/extensions/platformio.platformio-ide-3.3.4-linux-x64/changelog.md (lower case) but the error message displays upper case "CHANGELOG" part. I thought that's the reason why "PlatformIO IDE Release Notes" editor tab is always opening. However, even after renaming changelog.md to CHANGELOG.md the error message disappeared but Release Note tab continues to open every time when editor run. It's very annoying.
