Failed to install Platformio IDE in vscode

Similar issue to #1114

I cannot install version 3.3.4 of PlatformIO IDE on my VS Code running under Windows 10 System. It simply hangs in the installing state as shown below:

platformio CLI installation via python script works fine. I have also cleaned up the .platformio folder within my user domain: C:\Users<USER_NAME>.platformio

The used python version is the python 3.11.2 from the official python web site. I will not downgrade to python below 3.10.x since I need for python deveolpment this version.

BTW: PlatfornIO IDE in VSCode running under Linux Mint works just fine. I have deinstalled PlatformIO IDE and re-installed again after VScode has been updated to version 1.98.0 (same version as under Win10). Installation of the extension took some seconds - No problems at all. Python version under Linux 3.12.3. Any hint is appreciated to get it running under Win10 as well since this is my main OS.

I have now installed VSCode version 1.99.0 insider, which uses a completely different folder (parallel installation to the official v1.98). With this version I am able to install the PlatformIO IDE plugin (extension). I guess if I would make a purge maybe the official version would work too. Any hint how to do that ist appreciated.
