Enhancements and fixes to the Hollow Carriages

Open Udaldor opened this issue 10 years ago • 6 comments

  1. I'd love a texture similar to the ones of the current enabled texture set. Preferably the orange type one.
  2. The FMP Tubes integration is really buggy right now. Refined Relocation's Relocators seem to work fine, however BluePower Pneumatic Tubes don't work at all. As soon as you place a hollow carriage on it, it stops working. It doesn't work after removing the hollow frame either. Waila shows <ERROR> from the moment the carriage is placed. The items LOOK like they're being moved through the tubes, but they never arrive and disappear forever.
  3. Some way of closing a side, using FMP covers, would be nice. The ability to place stuff on these carriages (maybe using panels?) is something else I think a lot of people would appreciate.

  1. I'd be interested in adding new textures, but I'm no artist. I'll see if any of the other people who have made texture sets are still interested.
  2. I thought BluePower was dropping FMP in favour of their own custom multipart system? In that case, carriages should have no effect. If they're stopping working when placed over some block, that's a bug.
  3. Last time I checked, FMP carriages could be controlled using covers (or panels for decoration) or by using a screwdriver on each side.

  1. I see.
  2. BluePower has support for both FMP and it's own system. So it does, and will continue to have, FMP support. You say it's a bug, is that on BP's or RIM's side?
  3. Using a screwdriver on a side of the hollow carriage will indeed close it from connecting to other blocks, however I can not get covers nor panels to stick to the carriage. They just get placed "outside" the carriage, like in the pictures. 2015-01-11_18 48 54 2015-01-11_18 48 56

  1. I'd have to test it to figure out which side it's on.
  2. I probably should say something to the effect in the docs, but you need to place the carriage before applying covers.

  1. So from what I've understood, the covers/panels have to be placed down BEFORE I place down the carriage? You said "place the carriage before applying covers", and that is exactly what is not working. Placing covers/panels first works, though. Isn't that kind of weird though? Shouldn't there be a way to fix that?

Sorry, I meant place the carriage last. It's admittedly a bit counterintuitive - perhaps I should make it so it only is clickable if you're holding a screwdriver or wrench?

What I meant was: it would be a lot better if you placed the covers/panels AFTER you place the hollow carriages - like with the old Redpower frames and most other mods adding frames. It can be tricky to place them right before you place the hollow carriage, and it's a lot more work. Makes it a hassle.
