App bar does not display when in system settings

Open ZimbiX opened this issue 2 years ago • 3 comments

When I'm in the system settings app, the planet button does not bring up the app bar. This results in rather an inconsistent experience, leaving me unsure whether the app bar will actually show up when I want it.

Hah, it turns out there's a Developer options setting to allow this! Having to set this manually should really be unnecessary though, if possible

Was the V07 firmware update just enabling this setting..? If I turn it off, the app bar doesn't show up when I'm in the settings app, as before. But I had the setting enabled when I updated to V07, so I don't know if it would have changed it.

I only know the update might have done something for this due to the changelog including:

  • Fix for AppBar not showing in Settings app

Can someone who's sure they haven't touched the 'Allow screen overlays' setting in Developer Options check what it's set to after the Astro V07 update? If it's enabled, I reckon we can mark this issue as resolved; although it does seem to me to be a bit of a hack if Planet's solution is to rely on this security-weakening setting.
