if i quickly connect and disconnect, app eventually stops trying to connect

open app, which trys to open socket. quickly close app and send to background.

now i can see the login and disconnect events.

but if i keep doing this over and over again, eventually i stop seeing the connect happen.

even if i completely close the app, it ownt try to connect again.

seems like disconnect is not cleaning up properly?
