Dismissing a notification should not perform the same action as clicking on it

Open teohhanhui opened this issue 10 months ago • 1 comments

Steps to reproduce

  1. Have matui open and showing messages in Room A.
  2. Receive a notification about a new message in Room B.
  3. Observe that matui has not switched over to show the new message in Room B.
  4. Dismiss the notification (e.g. clicking the "Clear" button from GNOME's notification list).
  5. Observe that matui has switched over to show the new message in Room B.

I made it work this way because I've gotten used to it in my workflow (https://xkcd.com/1172/), where Slack messages open that chat when they are clicked OR dismissed. But you are right, dismissing them shouldn't act on them, despite what Slack does. :D
