Install issues, python approach, Xubuntu24.10 wayland

Can anyone suggest what I need to do to install pygrid on my freshly installed system? All proposed approaches have so far failed. Thanks in advance!

sudo apt install python3-x11pygrid

Error: Unable to locate package python3-x11pygrid

sudo pipx install x11pygrid

Fatal error from pip prevented installation. Full pip output in file: /root/.local/state/pipx/log/cmd_2025-01-25_20.17.23_pip_errors.log

pip seemed to fail to build package: PyGObject

Some possibly relevant errors from pip install: error: subprocess-exited-with-error ../meson.build:31:9: ERROR: Dependency 'gobject-introspection-1.0' is required but not found. error: metadata-generation-failed

Error installing x11pygrid.

I tried just setting up application autostart to point to my saved pygrid.py config:

/usr/bin/python3 /media/simon/data/XubuntuReinstallBackupConfigs/pygrid.py
