Understanding Requirements (Physical)
If I want to setup a Pixelfed server, I would like to understand the hardware requirements.
What I would like to have is a table like this:
| number of users | min. RAM | ideal RAM | min. Disk Space for first year | bandwidth MB/sup/down | no. moderators recommended |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1-10 (family) | 1-2 | ||||
| 10-100 (small community) | |||||
| 100-1000 (large community) | |||||
| 1000+ (open instance) |
And also:

- [ ] Choice of Operating System
Hardware Recommendations for self-hosting at home:
-
SSD/Hard-drive/SDCard
-
Hosting providers used:
- Yearly Cost of server + domain + traffic
- Yearly cost of Storage
- Location (EU/US/UK/...)
I think that there is already some knowledge about this and it would be nice to have a page about this before the tutorial on how to proceed with setting up the software.
I wonder how to go about this. I think pixelfed.social and pixelfed.de might have enough knowledge to help out here and I could also create a questionnaire.
