vim and copy and paste to macOS clipboard

We're using workstation-setup and came across this problem.

This version of vim will not allow me to copy and paste in visual mode to the clipboard. (Vim in sprout-wrap does allow me to copy and paste to the clipboard.)

A pair suggested vmap (C-c) "+y but that didn't work
