Difficult to move tabs before the first tab.

Open cstrahan opened this issue 2 months ago • 1 comments

Abstract

It is very difficult to move tabs before the first tab.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Start Firefox with clean profile.
  2. Install TST 4.2.7.
  3. Try to drag a tab from after the first to before the first tab.
  4. The pinned tabs component expands, and now the cursor will be positioned with the component such that the drag-and-drop target will be the pin tab.
  5. Try to drag the now pinned tab to the first tab position.
  6. Notice that the tab remains pinned, instead of going to the first tab position.
  7. If you move the pinned tab somewhere after the first tab, then drag that tab to the first position, watch as the tab pinning component expands, and then carefully drop the tab right on divider to place the tab in the first position, that will finally work.

The previous recording is from my personal profile, but I set up a blank profile and, aside from visual differences (due to themes), the behavior is identical.

It looks like this was initially reported in https://github.com/piroor/treestyletab/issues/3804, and then supposedly fixed in 4.2.7, but it looks like it's still broken.

Environment

  • Platform (OS): macOS 15.4.1
  • Version of Firefox: 145.0 (aarch64)
  • Version (or revision) of Tree Style Tab: 4.2.7

Thanks, I misunderstood behaviors of the native tab bar. The commit 80095d0 should fix this.
