Could you make click on the tab name switch to that tab and leave control/shit + click on the name or click on the checkbox as options to select the tab?

I have very less motivation to implement this, because I always use this addon with my another addon Tree Style Tab and the feature you told is completely needless on my usecase. So I'm waiting for any pull request to implement the feature.

However, I think that the toolbar button panel is just for selection, it is not an alternative of the tab bar. If you implement this feature, I think that the added behavior should be just an option.
