Well, then you can't use this helper function because it doesn't error out. I am not sure if I want to break the API for such an helper function tbh.

Core but mostly inactive maintainer here. The project lives a precarious life but is stable. That said, I think it isn't and won't be in a better place any time...
e2e tests seem to be timing out. Were you able to run them successfully locally?
It's been a while since I checked this but I'm thinking such a helper would be the way to go.
