Are you planning to make use of this new xbmc feature?

How should this feature be used exactly ? Do you want to send a WOL packet to the VDR server ?

I don't know if this is possible, It would be cool if you try to watch live tv and the server is off line it automatically sends a wol packet and the addon waits for the server for a speciefied timeout and displays something like "XVDR: trying to wake the server" or similar.

That would be the best solution, because waking the server on xbmc start is no problem atm but i think that is not optimal. I want to start my xbmc htpc but the server shouldn't start until it is really needed because I'm also using xbmc to watch youtube vids and so on....
