Destroy enemy ship issue

Observed behaviour

Was transporting a client who was being chased by the mafia, after arriving in the destination system we came under attack, feeling lazy I gave the command to my defense crew, Isabel Cortes, to destroy the enemy ship, that is exactly what she did, a minute or two later we came under attack again, still feeling lazy I once again gave the command to destroy the enemy ship, this time I got a message.. "there is nobody else on board able to fly this ship" ?? I had no option but to destroy it myself, which I did.

While writing up this report I noticed that an error has occurred.

Started the game again at the point just before accepting the mission, this time got the same message "there is nobody else on board able to fly this ship" as soon as the first enemy ship appeared, after fighting the enemy for a minute, tried again with the "destroy enemy ship" and it worked as expected, was able to complete the mission 2nd time around.
