Using a graphics tablet to navigate makes the ship spin around

Open Jummit opened this issue 3 years ago • 2 comments

Observed behaviour

When using a graphics tablet to orient the camera or the ship itself, it spins wildly.

Expected behaviour

Clicking and dragging on the tablet should turn the spaceship.

Steps to reproduce

Hold down right or middle click with a tablet.

My pioneer version (and OS):

Tried it, and I experienced different (but still unusable behavior). The ship rotated a little bit jerkily. MMB view rotation wasn't too usable either. The way mouse flight works in Pioneer is kinda incompatible with tablets, because it rotates the ship towards the point where you stopped moving your mouse, and with a tablet you pick an absolute point on the screen, so that point will never be reachable. Have you tried switching your tablet to mouse mode?

Using mouse mode I get the jerky behavior you described. When I lowered the sensitivity a bit it was easier to control, but still jerky.
