I'm not aware of such error message, afaik this plugin runs fine even on the good old AviSynth 2.6. The error message may come from another plugin.

Yep, those asserts were false alarm, they are fixed now. As a side effect I have fixed a parameter error (there is an extra "utf8" parameter in Avisynth+)
You only need the x64 version for 64-bit media players. I cannot answer the other two questions, because I do not know much about LAVfilters.
