trouble installing vortex on steam deck LCD due to 'missing' steam linux runtime sniper

when running the vortex install script, it seems to skip the step to install steam linux runtime sniper, and then doesnt continue because sniper is not present. any advice? ive tried manually installing sniper by putting 'steam steam://install/1628350' into the console as the internet instructs me to, but nothing seems to happen.

it shows this inside the console when running the script;

edit: i checked, and sniper IS already installed on my deck, but it just refuses to recognise it?

ive really got no idea what I could do here, ive even tried deleting sniper (cant uninstall it through steam, it shows an error about 'missing shared content') manually by moving it into the bin to see if that would force the script to install it but nothing changed.

I'm having the same issue, no amount of re-installing helps :(

Shipped an update that should fix this.

1. run Update Pikdum's Tools to get the latest version
2. run Install Vortex a. might need to restart

Feel free to re-open if it doesn't.
