Not able to reproduce on my end, but here are some ideas:

Turn off Session Restore

Might help if it's trying to do something weird here, not sure.

  1. System Settings -> Startup and Shutdown -> Session Restore -> Start with an empty session -> Apply
  2. Then reboot and try launching Vortex again

Update Proton and Vortex

Just pushed an update and this will switch to the latest Proton GE and re-install Vortex. Shouldn't wipe config or anything.

  1. Run the "Update Pikdum's Tools" shortcut
  2. Then run ./install-vortex.sh in /home/deck/.pikdum/steam-deck-master/vortex
  3. Then reboot and try launching Vortex again

Shipped an update that should fix this.

  1. run Update Pikdum's Tools to get the latest version
  2. start Vortex a. might need to restart

Feel free to re-open if it doesn't.
