Request for VST2 support
Please can you keep VST2 support? I'm still using 32bit EnergyXT on Window 7.
I'm sorry but I can't. I don't know where to find the VST 2 SDK, how to put it legally in the repository (and I lost my license agreement...) but you can compile it if you really need it.
That's a shame. You had to sign the VST2 licence agreement before 2018? I think. I got mine just in time. But I'm not sure how to compile your software as I have only made a few things in synthedit.
I signed it in 2012 I think but I couldn't find the document anymore and I don't know where to get it back...
Oh that's ok then, just ask Steinberg for a copy, But I totally understand if you want to drop VST2 support, most people are theses days. If I can help in any way, feel free to message me. Thanks again for your amazing work.
I'll try to work on this again and i'll keep you informed.
The latest Carla build (linux, 2.3.0-alpha1) includes VST2 support via the VeSTige headers, which avoids using the Steinberg includes altogether.
I don't know if the header files can simply be replaced, or if migrating would be a headache... VST2 does still have some value, IMHO.
VeSTige has apparently been renamed/upgraded to the FST project: https://git.iem.at/zmoelnig/FST
I managed to find my VST2 licence agreement and a usable SDK :)
that's great news pierre! i hope it will prove to be usefull to a lot of people, i'm sure vst2 will be popular for a long time. thanks, gary.
