Google calendar items not being synced with Outlook
Version 2.10.1.0
So, I have been jacking with all of the setting and options and everything I can find, but it does not seem to matter what I do. Certain Google calendar items just do not ever get added to my Outlook calendar. It is extremely frustrating. This system has worked so very well for me for many years. I am more than a little stumped with this one.
I feel as if I may have gotten some setting jacked up, but I am unsure which it might be.
You'll need to provide a bit more detail on your settings (one way or two way sync, the type of items not being synced etc) - or ideally provide your OGCalsync log file.
I think that I am having the same problem.
OGcalsync.log
The items that have not synced are in the Google Shared Calendar "Family". Some of them sync to Outlook, but recent ones do not - for example, "Drinks before Ben Clementine"
I would like to do a force sync --> overwrite the contents of the Outlook calendar with the contents of the Google calendar.
Workaround is to delete profile and Outlook calendar for which Google > Outlook sync is not working and create new Outlook destination calendar & Profile
I shall give that a try. Thank you.
@jedison Doesn't make much sense to me. Deleting and creating a new Outlook profile/calendar won't change the number of items that are being retrieved from Google, and your log file shows the same number of items being retrieved from both Google and Outlook. If there were more items in Google it would create them in Outlook...
You do have "Exclude declined invites" for Google - does that apply to the drinks event?
Except that deleting the Outlook calendar will cause the number of items to be zero, so all Google Calendar entries will be synced. I wonder if the number of items in both calendars was the same, but that the items were different. For example, if I start with 2 items (AB) which are synced (2:AB vs 2: AB). Then I add 2 items CD (4: ABCD vs 2: AB), no sync. Then delete 2 different items then those that I added (2: CD vs 2: AB), now it's 2 on both sides but not the same two items. So by deleting the destination (one way sync) that does not contain all items, then I am forcing a sync.
The drinks event was created directly in the Google Calendar, not an accepted nor declined invitation.
Behind the scenes, OGCS is matching items on their unique IDs, so even if there is the same number, but different appointments, it would still detect the creations/deletions. If it happens again, I'd suggest turning on CSV files and then checking in google_events.csv
if the item is listed.
