Periodic hanging of server
What happened?
We have a new website runnning using Franken PHP. Which is working great, most of the time, but every now & then it just hangs, and doesn't start working until I restart the FrankenPHP container.
I'm not sure where to look for any useful log info, so please advise if you need more info, and how to get it.

So it looks like there might be a continuous higher CPU usage when things hang. I don't belive that there's any scripts that should cause high CPU, but open to investigating if someoneo can guide me on how to identify possible causes.

Odd. My Dockerfiles reads…

OK. I've now updated the service to dunglas/frankenphp:1.3-php8.3 image, and enabled debug.
I've just tried running the go tool pprof -http=:8080 http://localhost:2019/debug/pprof/heap command within the docker container, but it's reporting that go is not installed, so I tried running it in another Docker compose service, connecting to the php container's port 2019, using the following config…

Ah. I've managed to get a trace file using curl -o trace.out http://localhost:2019/debug/pprof/trace?seconds=5 from within the php container. Can this be used?
I've not had a frankenphp container freeze yet, but the mercure one does, about twice a week at the moment, I have to restart the container to get it to run again. Unfortunately then Im always in firefight mode right then, as paying users expecting services back up, but I promise to try a few moments of debugging next time it happens.
Have you tried setting your max_execution_time to something other than 0 or disabling blackfire? Hard to say what causes the hanging. If #1266 gets merged there'll be a debug endpoint to check the current status of all threads which might help.
Sharing the trace you got might also help.
Is the trace from running the curl -o trace.out http://localhost:2019/debug/pprof/trace?seconds=5 command helpful for debugging this?
The trace might help if the hanging is related to mercure I think, but it would probably need to be done during the hanging.
I was experiencing a very similar issue with my custom app/framework and spent weeks trying different solutions. Every time I rapidly refreshed a page (triggering multiple API calls), the server would hang, and the only way to recover was to reboot FrankenPHP.
It turned out the problem was that my main index.php was missing ignore_user_abort() while running in worker mode. Once I added it, the issue disappeared completely.
I think the FrankenPHP documentation could place stronger emphasis on the importance of this small but critical detail for custom FrankenPHP applications, as it can easily be overlooked and lead to hard-to-diagnose hanging issues.
