Request for distinct icons to differentiate macOS and iOS
Describe the requested icon(s)
Currently, Phosphor Icons includes a single AppleLogo icon, which is often used generically for Apple-related contexts. However, in cross-platform applications (especially developer tools, system dashboards, or device management UIs), there’s a real need to visually distinguish between macOS and iOS as separate platforms.
I’d like to request two new, clearly differentiated icons:
One representing macOS (e.g., using the classic Apple logo with a subtle desktop/laptop cue, or the traditional "mac" wordmark style seen in developer documentation) One representing iOS (e.g., incorporating a mobile device silhouette or using the established “iOS” typography/logo treatment) These icons should follow Phosphor’s design language—clean, geometric, and consistent with the existing set—while remaining recognizable as platform identifiers.
Use case: A Flutter app that displays build targets, connected devices, or platform-specific settings (e.g., “Deploy to macOS” vs. “Run on iOS Simulator”) would benefit from unambiguous visual cues.

Apple’s official Human Interface Guidelines use distinct treatments: macOS often uses a desktop/laptop context or the word “macOS” iOS is typically associated with iPhone/iPad silhouettes or labeled “iOS” Other icon sets handle this distinction: Simple Icons provides separate MacOS and IOS icons Font Awesome has fa-brands apple but also community variants that differentiate platforms via context Additional context
This request aligns with Phosphor’s stated criteria for brand/platform icons (per #392):
Both macOS and iOS are widely recognized platforms with global reach They are useful in non-commercial contexts (e.g., personal dev tools, open-source projects) The icons would be stylized interpretations—not direct reproductions of Apple trademarks—but designed to convey platform identity within Phosphor’s aesthetic Thank you for considering this enhancement!
