Recovery system tries to recover to impossible location

I'm stuck in a recovery loop on the third map: I just places me back where it's trying to recover me from

Press back as you're in the air to lift up the ships nose. You'll then make the jump.

But it definitely is harder than in the original release of this game because there's some significant issues with the ships handling and nose, which affects all the jumps. So in this specific case, because of those issues with the front heavy nose, i'd expect that you're crashing into the floor on the jump that is right before the larger jump in your screenshot, so then you can't get enough speed to cover the larger jump. This isn't how it works in the original release.
