[Feature Request]: Add option to disable gradual dimming for some lights

Open ironcrafter54 opened this issue 2 years ago • 7 comments

Requirements

  • [X] I have updated Mushroom to the latest available version
  • [X] I did a search to see if there is a similar issue or if a pull request is open.

Current Behavior

When I adjust the brightness on my lifx bulbs they receive too many commands at once and there is a fews seconds of lag when adjusting them.

Expected Behavior

A option in yaml that would allow you to disable the gradual dimming on individual cards, then the light would just snap to the desired brightness, but would not affect all cards, just the ones specified.

Steps To Reproduce

No response

Context

YAML state

Environment

- Browser:
- HA Version:
- Mushroom:

Anything else?

If this can be fixed then I will be able to use this repo.

Similar for me as well. Sometimes too many commands get stuck in the pipe. Unfortunately at least for my installation it is super irregular and seems to be an issue with HA itself.

Your expected behavior: A option in yaml that would allow you to disable the gradual dimming on individual cards, then the light would just snap to the desired brightness, but would not affect all cards, just the ones specified. makes sense to me.

@ironcrafter54 Do you know how to add an option like that?

I do not know how this would be done, the only way I could think of is adding a secondary light card called no-gradual-change that would still slide like the others cards but would only update when you release your finger/mouse.

How about an "update interval" parameter that sends the update every x ms?

Yeah that would probably allow you to fix the problem

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread, but @ironcrafter54 you do realize the bars act instantly if you just click somewhere on the bar, right?

I almost uninstalled this repo, since my 7" tablet was too narrow to reach max brightness if I started dragging from a low brightness, there wasn't enough physical space for the gradual dimming to reach 100%. Only then did I realize that I don't have to drag from a low point, I can just tap on 70%-80% on the bar and then drag from there.

Yep I am aware of that, thanks
