Search provider doesn't work in 3.14

Open szpak opened this issue 10 years ago • 9 comments

After upgrade to Fedora 21 (with the new extension version installed) I see no contact in a search provider. In the new Gnome version there is a new application named "Search" which allows to enable/disable search provider sources (gnome-control-center search) and don't see Gajim there.

Tested with Gnome 3.14.2.

Which version are you using? Oddly search didn't work here until I disabled and re-enabled the extension.

gajim-0.16-1.fc21.noarch. Extension from http://extensions.gnome.org/ - version 10.

I tried to disable/enable extension, but with no effect.

I have gnome-shell 3.14.1 here... So I suppose they again broke this in the next version. Not surprising...

Ok, so let's wait until 3.14.2 arrives into your distro to verify that issue.

Oh actually it's in Debian Sid now but I don't have time to check this issue further today.

No problem. I can live with that a few more days ;).

Hmm, on the other laptop with the same Fedora 21 and gnome-shell 3.14.2 I can see contacts, but not those which I was looking for :). They are always the same for specified input, but I see no correlation to a given search query...

I hope moving to DBus will make the search provider behave a bit better, so closing this now and keep an eye on #20 :)

Is this still an issue? The search provider seems to work here with 3.22
