Nice to see somebody working on this! I thought about doing the same.

Has taken me a lot longer than anticipated!

Having a quick scan through that link, it identical to the Denon. Even the control protocol wording is the same!

I'd say give it a go and see how you get on. See no reason why this module shouldn't work as is after reading that link.
