Not working on Yosemite

Open JoshuaSP opened this issue 10 years ago • 3 comments

(Hi Philip!}

I installed the BracketGuard which I am very excited to use to help me stop miscompleting my brackets!

However, nothing seems to happen after it's installed. I restarted Sublime (running ST2), and despite my best efforts, I can't get it to do anything, either in one of my projects, or in a new blank one.

Am I missing something obvious? What can I do to help you debug what's going on? There's no error thrown in the Sublime console, BTW.

Thanks so much! (({)}}

Hi Joshua!

I'm sorry to hear that! Which OS are you running? Could it be that you tested BracketGuard only in files which have more characters than 20.000? This is the default threshold for ignoring large files in order to avoid long delays.

At the moment, nothing else comes to my mind. You could try to insert some log-statements into BracketGuard.py to see which code gets executed. Additonally, you could try to run the test suite locally. For this you need the package UnitTesting.

Let me know, if you need further instructions to debug the package!

Hi Philipp!

I am running OS X Yosemite. On my laptop, where I am running only Mavericks, it works fine, though of course there's no way to know whether the OS is the issue.

I have tested it on the smallest of files...

Unfortunately I don't have time at the moment to try to debug it myself. If I happen to do something and it starts working, I'll let you know.

Thanks so much for your quick reply!

Warmest, Joshua

Hi Joshua!

Sadly I don't have Yosemite to test it out. Maybe someone else can jump in or you happen to find some time some day. Until then, I will put this issue on hold ;)
