Wrong icon displayed

Open azurit opened this issue 10 years ago • 5 comments

When i run Pidgin, which is set to stay offline after starting, the tray icon is set to 'online' (the one with green circle) about 90% of time even when Pidgin itself is offline. This is very confusing and usually if i don't login immediately i never login that day because i simply see the green icon and thinks i'm online.

What desktop environment are you using?

KDE5 (Kubuntu 15.04)

So, the behaviour here is heavily dependent on the desktop environment, as the icon rendering is all handled there. I know that the basic logic I have in place asks pidgin for its saved state and calculates the icon based on that, and this works perfectly fine in Unity. I've never tried on any other desktop environment.

so it won't be fixed? :(

Well, it's hard for me to understand what's going on without seeing it and it will be hard to find time to get a working kde environment up to experiment with - and after that I'll probably say it's a kde problem.

That's not a no, but don't expect anything soon.
