Update the script to work with php 8, please?

I have found this tool very useful in updating some of my legacy scripts. However, the script breaks with version 8. Deprecated bits. With my limited php knowledge I cannot fix and update the script myself. Would it be possible to do a rewrite, please? Thanks.
