Tabs sometimes do not load
Sometimes, switching to an unloaded tab does not cause this tab to load. Instead, no content at all is displayed in the tab (not even about:blank). Tab title and URL are still present and (while the reload button is grayed out) pressing return in the URL bar gets the page to load.
I wish I could be more specific about when this behaviour occurs, but I have not detected a pattern. (Running latest stable Bartab on FF 3.6.6, ubuntu 10.04)
What other add-ons are you using? Have you tried disabling them one by one to see if the problem goes away?
After happening a couple of times before I posted this issue, the problem has not recurred since I posted it here. This makes it hard to test ;)
If it happens again, I will try to narrow it down. My first guess was that it only happened with pages still at least partially in cache, but since I have had no problems for over a week now... who knows.
OK, it's happened again. Addons are Firefox Sync, Noscript, Adblock Plus, Force-TLS, and Session Manager. Noscript and Adblock are disabled on the tabs where it happened (containing Wikipedia pages). I would expect the pages were still in the cache from the previous session.
Could this be a timing issue? It seems to happen more frequently when I click on a couple of unloaded tabs in rapid succession. (Still, if I am the only one experiencing this... odd.)
I can confirm this issue. Force-TLS and Session Manager are not the problem (I don't have those extensions). I am using firefox 4.0.
Confirms for 4.0.RC and many previous versions. Starting from a some of last 1.x BarTab do NOT loads tab on tab selection. Happens always on 3 different computers and 5 Foxes.
BarTab WAS the one of the best addons but without really working autoloading it's "a bit" useless
Confirming this problem with BT2.1b2 and FF4 release. Clean profile, no extensions. Suspended tabs fail to automatically load when switching to them. This never happened to me with earlier versions of FF. It does indeed mostly defeat the purpose of BT and since it is an essential add-on for me, I'd very much like to see this corrected in the final release!
Actually I don't think this is a BarTab issue at all, as I still have this problem on FF4 despite no longer having BarTab installed.
