Feature Discussion: letters
Hi,
At the moment a nearly content independent set of letters appears if i press f.
The letters could be coulpled somehow to the content.

You may enable the Vimium option named Use the link's name and characters for link-hint filtering and then take a try:
@gdh1995, using this feature (FilteredHints) does allow you to type the link in order to resolve ambiguity, but (as you can see in the following screenshot) the link's name and letters are not shown within the hint marker itself. It'd be nice if the hintstrings that are displayed inferred the contents of their hint marker using the link's content.
What I've been doing in the meantime is to style .vimiumHintMarker span with display: none in order to hide the text for the markers entirely, leaving the marker itself in order to quickly identify links that are available for filtering base on contents. Then, replacing the "linkHintCharacters" setting with generally unused characters which (in effect) prioritizes the contents of the links for the user. This workaround, however, is only aesthetic and poses issues with images where the link's contents isn't always clear.
