Make duration of opening and closing animation configurable?

A client wants a slower opening and closing animation for accordion items. As far as I have understood, there is a variable "duration" in accordion-blocks.js (line 24) set to 250 (ms). Is there a way to change this value "from the outside" without changing the code?
