Grouping branches ambiguity

The option git-log--graph.group-branch-remotes seem to work only when there are no additional / in the branch name other than to suffix origin/ ?

E.g. grouping works GREAT for the branch shown at the top but fails to recognize it for the branch showed at the bottom:

We sometimes prefix branches for organization, also some software natively groups branches by "word"/ together: image
