Cyrillic not working

What would be the way to make the hotstrings work with Cyrillic?

good question, I have honestly no idea. It doesn't appear to work with the popular xdotool either, but there isn't even an issue about it (?)

would definitely be good to find a solution here

fwiw, SendRaw probably works much better than Send in this case
