Redirect to front page after using login link, show Welcome message, with Coffee shortcut and other tips

After login, the user ends up at the admin account page which is not so exciting ... Could we redirect the user to the front page instead?

Also, including Coffee is great, but to make the user aware of it, could we show a welcome message on the front page, highlighting a few select features, like this? (just a rough sketch)

I'd love to see something like this. Maybe a content block that gets installed by the top-level starshot recipe, and displayed only on the front page? I don't have time to do this myself but I'd welcome a PR.
