Freezing when there's no network

Open fuhrmanator opened this issue 5 years ago • 1 comments

Using Pharo Launcher 1.8 on Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL, under Windows 10) I encountered a problem with network connectivity in WSL (probably related to the WiFi router). In short, I had no network connection whatsoever in WSL.

It seems PL tries to connect to something, because it was frozen for many seconds (one minute?) until finally displaying a "Network error" in the lower-right box. In fact, not even DNS was working in WSL, even though I was connected to WiFi in WIndows 10. I'm posting this issue in case someone else might have it.

It's pretty reproducible for now (I only have to go to the area where the WiFi won't let my WSL connect). Rebooting my PC and the wifi had no effect (this is not related to PL).
