swapi.dev - running service

Hello community,

I have deployed SWAPI on https://swapi.dev, it is deployed from my fork: https://github.com/juriy/swapi (I'm hoping this is fine with @phalt). I plan to keep this instance running, since some of my online courses heavily depend on this API.

Feel free to use it instead of swapi.co that is currently down

@Juriy thank you, would it be hard to update the db with latest films? I could collect required data but I'm not familiar with python

@Juriy tried to acces the deployed site: https://swapi.dev/ without success as it appears it got expired certificate.. Error code: SEC_ERROR_EXPIRED_CERTIFICATE

Validity: Not After 10/11/2020, 7:06:41 AM (Eastern European Summer Time)

Is it still maintained ? Thanks

Yes, it was a temporary glitch with certificate renewal

Looks like there's protocol error with the site... it's using HSTS now which I didn't have an issue with last night.

Given the current outage on swapi.dev, I would like to bring to attention my own Open Source swapi.info. A partially feature-parity take on SWAPI which solely utilizes Cloudflare & Cloudflare Pages infrastructure to provide blazing fast, non rate-limited, JSON-only APIs with excellent uptime guarentees and status monitoring to rapid reactions.

Built as a giveback to the community to provide an data explorer and API service for the new enterents in our community and for teachers to have a visual aid always available at their disposal.
