how to check which nickelmenu version is installed ? and why is it not rebooting by itself after dropping the new .tgz file ?
since there's a new update, I've dropped the new tgz file into .kobo, but it didnt reboot. manually rebooting, nicklemenu is still here, but i'm not sure the update was correctly applied
- is it supposed to reboot automatically, and is it a problem if I had to do it myself?

Yes, it's supposed to reboot automatically. If it didn't, the new version isn't installed.
It's easier to reinstall than to try to figure out what version you're on.

so I did, but suppose i reinstall, isnt there still a possibility that the install failed and i'm still on the previous build ? (i'm not sure how it works, perhaps is it that impossible)
