Question About Selection Menu

I used highlight(original function in kobo) for one sentence, and next time when I just click it once, it will trigger the selection menu. And in the menu I have a custom item used to echo '{1||$}', when I select it, it will echo an empty string. I just wonder is there any solution to let the string be the highlight sentence except empty string, or it is impossible?

I see what the problem is here. I'll have to see if I can rework how NM gets the selection when I have time (and, if that works, I'll also be able to add buttons to the dictionary pop-up).
