pgAdmin4 hangs when VPN disconnects

pgAdmin4 version 8.9 (and all previous versions) Version downloaded from pgadmin.org Running in desktop mode To reproduce the problem:

1. Have PgAdmin4 open
2. Queries are run on tables in a server using VPN connection.
3. Disconnect VPN
4. Open a query window
5. Starts spinning, screen goes dark and cannot close window.
6. message 'Failed to retrieve data from the server. Please connect to the selected database to view the table'
7. Have to close pgAdmin4 and lose any script in other query windows. Windows 10
