Did you install webpack successfully (and run it after that)? It gives me an err on CentOS that i can not get past.
Probably that is the first thing that needs to be fixed/installed properly.

Scirius queries ES directly, just like Kibana and EveBox.
What is your OS and the command that you are using ?
Upgrade it on what distro?
1.1.6 is for the upcoming SELKS 3.0 (and current SELKS 3.0 RC1) since it is dependent on Elasticsearch 2.x SELKS 2.1 (soon to be decommissioned) is based on ES 1.7
