StartMonitoringForRegion not working for iOS 10

With the iOS 10 update we seem to be having problems with the StartMonitoringForRegion function which is use to monitor for beacons in the background.

We can't seem to get the suggested App to appear at the bottom left of the lock screen. This is working fine with iOS 9.2, where the suggested App would appear when it's near a beacon with the correct UUID.

We've looked through the release notes for iOS 10 and couldn't find anything that would stop it from working.

Anyone else experiencing this and know the cause?

Any help would be useful!
