'Unread message' notifications do appear but chats have no new messages

I am admin for our guild (in game) and we use chat in Telegram. Some of our users get wrong notifications and cannot remove them. We assume that it happened when group has been converted into supergroup. Only reinstall helps.

I was also facing this issue, starting the Telegram Desktop Client and opening that chat fixes the problem. But it's just a work around.

I found solution First go to setting \ notification and reset all notifications. Then read all unread messages Return back to phone notifications and you will see the name of channel or group which creates unseen notification.

Happened a few days ago on my Macbook Pro and does not go away since then. I even cleaned up everything and did a fresh re-install but it didn't help :(

I’m also facing this issue. Only happens on my iPad and not Telegram Desktop or Android.

I can confirm it happening in latest iOS on iphone 8 plus. Also telegram seems that required me to login again after i rebooted the phone due to batery getting empty

Just installed 1.5.8 from AUR.

I found the unread chat by going thru all. In my case, it was easy (MacOS 4.9.9 (160458)).
