It would be really cool, if you could provide a licence (preferably MIT) for your repo.

Contrary to what you may think, if your code has no license, then the default means "only the person who wrote it can ever use it". Since you have accepted contributions from third parties, "the person who wrote it" is not (just) you, so you're not allowed to use it...
